Sue with her gorgeous hand-made bags:
I’m a mum of two teenage boys, who works full-time and among other things, likes to sew, embroider and knit. My Grandmother taught me how and when I have a few spare moments the sewing usually comes out. Most of the projects to-date have been along the lines of quilts and wall hangings but lately I have made bags as gifts for friends and my mum, sister and Auntie, as well as one or two for myself. I use the bags on a daily basis and get a lot of comments from people I work with, as well as encouragement to make one for them too. So this has led to the making of this group of bags and booking a site at the Tuggeranong Indoor Community Market.![]()

I cannot take credit for the design of the bags, this I purchased in a craft shop while on holiday in Victoria at Christmas time. I have however road-tested the design and made small adjustments to make the bag as robust as possible, particularly as I use my handbag all the time and it gets dumped unceremoniously on the back seat of the car, under my desk at work, often loaded to the hilt with items such as a water bottle and lunch or shopping items (when I forget my green bag) and the occasional book.
The Tuggeranong Indoor Community Market is back this weekend Sunday April 27
We are open between 10am and 2pm with a huge range of stalls including:
BBQ
aromatherapy
jewellery
african baskets & cards
native flowers
fashion items
home made cookies & cakes etc
general art & craft and
so much more …
The market is indoors with air-conditioned comfort, so come on down to the Tuggeranong Community Centre (next to McDonalds) and enjoy the market atmosphere![]()
The Lanyon High School is joining our market and will be running the BBQ out the front of the Community Centre for the next 5 months.
Below is some info about why the school is conducting fund-raising:
In September this year, 13 enthusiastic and dedicated Lanyon High School students are heading off on the experience of a lifetime - a two week study tour of Japan. During the tour, students will visit Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Canberra’s sister city Nara. They will visit Japanese homes and schools, meet Japanese students and see some of Japan’s most famous sights.
By supporting the Tuggeranong Indoor Community Market BBQ over the next 5 months you will be supporting local students participating in the study tour.
Reminder our next market is Sunday April 27 so make sure you book your site now and let all your family, friends and customers know our BBQ is back so they can grab a sausage and then browse through your wonderful, artistic and creative stalls.
A reminder I am now taking bookings for the Rebels Netball Club Family Fun Day “Market/Fete”
