TUGGERANONG INDOOR COMMUNITY MARKET TO BECOME A PERMANENT EVENT
With the recent success of the first Tuggeranong Indoor Community Market, the organisers have decided to continue the art and craft market on a regular basis. This is welcome news for both buyers and sellers who appreciate the comfort that an indoor venue provides. “We held the first market in July and it was an outstanding success with an estimated 2000 buyers through the door” said organiser Jennine Mayfield. “Both buyers and sellers appreciated the fact that the market was held indoors. It just made for a more pleasant buying experience for everyone.” The art & craft market which will be held on the last Sunday of each month is quickly becoming a vibrant community market offering arts, craft, jewellery, collectibles, home wares, exotic items, aromatherapy, scrap-booking supplies and much more. “We are endeavoring to showcase some of the ACT and especially Tuggeranong’s talent with a very niche offering of products”, said Ms Mayfield. “So whether it is handmade or manufactured, we are looking for quality not quantity.” The organisers have also set up a website to keep both buyers and sellers updated on dates, opening hours and events associated with the market. This can be accessed via www.tuggeranongindoormarket.com.au The next Market will be held on Sunday, 30 September 2007 indoors at the Tuggeranong Community Centre, Cowlishaw St, Greenway, situated on the foreshore of Lake Tuggeranong, next door to McDonalds and a stone’s throw from the Hyperdome Shopping Centre. Entry is free to the public and is open between 10am and 2pm. Visit the Market, enjoy a cuppa at the Jetty Cafe, stroll along the lake, visit the shopping area and enjoy the community atmosphere of Tuggeranong. From the unusual to the unique, there is always an impressive showcase of handmade arts and craft on display with plenty to appeal to both locals and visitors.

TUGGERANONG WINTER MARKET COMES IN FROM THE COLD
Canberra market shoppers can come in from the cold on 29 July 2007 with the opening of a new indoor art and craft market at the Tuggeranong Community Centre. With winter well and truly upon us this is welcome news for those who love traditional weekend markets but aren’t so keen on braving the cold.
The organisers of the event, who are a group of regular market sellers themselves, realised that they had enough of spending hours at outdoor events in freezing conditions and decided to start their own indoor market.
“Most markets are held out in the open and it can be bitterly cold in winter”, said organizer Jennine Mayfield. “The Tuggeranong Winter Market will be a warm place for both buyers and sellers to do business without the biting winds and chilling cold.”
The indoor market will feature a range of arts and crafts including aromatherapy, hand-crafted jewellery and scrap booking supplies. Other stall holders will also be on hand offering quality manufactured goods providing buyers with a range of items to choose from.
“We are hoping to showcase some of Canberra’s talent with a very niche offering of products”, said Ms Mayfield. “So whether it is handmade or manufactured, we are looking for quality not quantity.”
The Tuggeranong Winter Market will be held on Sunday, 29 July 2007 at the Tuggeranong Community Centre, Cowlishaw St, Greenway between 11am and 2pm. Entry is free to the public.
RELEASE DATE: Week beginning 9 July 2007NEW TUGGERANONG MARKET TO SHOWCASE LOCAL ARTS AND CRAFTSTuggeranong’s newest market is attracting attention amongst stall holders with its unique indoor venue. Unlike other ACT markets, the Tuggeranong Winter market, to be held on 29 July 2007 at the Tuggeranong Community Centre, will be held indoors making it a unique opportunity for both market buyers and sellers to do business in a warm environment away from the elements. The organisers of the event are local business owners and regular market sellers who decided to launch their own market after they realized they no longer wanted to spend long hours outside in windy, bitterly cold temperatures during the winter months“We held our first indoor mini-market in March and we were very happy with the results”, said organizer Jennine Mayfield. “At the time we were looking for a venue that was clean, dust-free and not reliant on the elements and quickly realised how well an indoor market would work during the winter.”
